[F4M] The Last of Us

Disclaimer: This RP takes place in 2018 of the tv show (I have not completed the game) and as such, Ellie isn't a character we will be using. She is omitted and off the table as far as plot/presence. The RP will focus on Joel and my OC (age 26).

Guidelines: I am seeking someone to write as Joel against my OC. I am looking for someone who is highly literate and happy to give/get 4-5 paragraphs on a regular basis, depending on how offline is treating us. I don't expect quick replies but I do expect thoughtful replies so if that means waiting a week or two, that's fine. Try to keep me informed either way. Romance is going to be very gradual and slow. Nothing instant or sudden! Anything that pushes smut ahead of plot will make me drop the RP. I'm here for a story first and foremost!

My OC and Premise: My OC Jen, age 26, is from the UK. She has an obvious accent and an optimistic worldview despite the ruins that surround them. She is decent in self-defense, sometimes too trusting in situations it would be ill-advised, and wishes to see the good in others. I created her to have a positive outlook and to be kind, as a foil to Joel's grumpy side. She is not immune like Ellie but if you want, we can change it so her blood is special/immune but again, that's not my intention at all, as it feels a little cliché.

Jen and her parents survived in the wilderness for several years before they took a boat to travel the seas and find a safer place to live. Upon reaching the east coast of North America, her mother was killed by an infected, leaving her and her father to travel with heavy hearts. The two had a falling out and parted ways, with her leaving in the night. Since losing her father, Jen has continued to roam the country, sticking to remote areas most of the time.

During a supply run to a small town, Jen stumbles across Joel and a group in conflict. With bullets flying, Joel gets injured and is saved by Jen. In order to repay her for her unusual kindness, Joel agrees to escort her westward. Jen makes it worthwhile by offering him some treats she imported from the UK (alcohol, candy and such). Despite the age gap between them, they warm up to one another as they travel and survive together while looking for her father. Joel becomes a mentor of sorts for Jen and aids her in weak areas (shooting, combat) and she is delighted to cook and make their journey comfortable. Feelings would develop in due time, a slow burn approach.
