Anyone else getting burned by “too good to be true” deals on eBay lately?
So I’ve been trying to hunt for good deals on eBay, mostly older tech, watches, and vintage action figures. Lately I’ve noticed a weird pattern: some listings look amazing price-wise, but when the item shows up, it’s clearly a fake or a “refurbished” knockoff even though it was listed as genuine.
I had this happen recently with a “vintage” action figure and a collectible watch. The listings had solid feedback, decent photos, and everything looked legit, but when they arrived it was obvious they weren’t authentic. The seller claimed they “didn’t know,” and eBay refunded me, but it’s making me more cautious.
Is this just part of eBay now? Are more sellers flipping fakes, or am I just getting unlucky with listings that seem too good to be true?
