The broken refiners have killed a lot of my interest in the game

Bug

I've just passed 100 hours and I've been having a blast. I spent a lot of my weekend researching, planning and building a stasis farm. Today I had 12-15 refiners on my freighter filled with materials, would be worth around 1-1,5b after when crafted. I went a quick run to empty the storage in my mines, and when I came back and all the refiners were empty.

I did some googling and found out that refiners are bugged as shit and delete stuff all the time, even the ones on the ground delete stuff but although more rarely. I could use the ones on the ground, but the freighter is the only place I can set up many refiners close to each other anyways (why even is there a limit on number of refiners in a base?) Not only is this a disastrous bug, but it has been a bug for years apparently.

Inventory management for feeding refiners is already terrible and spreading out the needed production over many refiners to speed up the process is tedious as hell. Doesn't help that I play on console. I thought that I maybe need to just set up mines and farms for every resource I need and don't duplicate stuff in refiners, but then I realised I need to manually harvest over a hundred biodomes to get what I need on a daily basis.

I can feel my interest in the game and motivation to play dwindle out in an instant. Compared to many other games the lack of automation and terrible UI for the few processes that actually are automated is pretty terrible. But when the devs haven't bothered to fix such a critical bug for years I struggle to see why I should even bother with this. Yes, I know there are others aspects of the game to explore and other ways to make a lot of units, but for me personally I find all of this broken stuff very damning for my experience.
