Bony impacted top left. How is the removal compared to bottoms?
I'm just over two weeks of getting my bottom left wisdom tooth extracted. It was partially impacted/emerged, meaning I could see about half of the tooth with the other half being under my gums. I got it out with local anesthesia and nitrous. I was terrified leading up to it, but the procedure itself was not bad and took maybe 5 minutes. It was not as bad as I was expecting. I'm not sure exactly what they did, but I believe my gum was cut and the tooth divided before taking it out. I also got a couple of dissolvable stitches. I think waiting for the blood to clot and the first 4 days of recovery were the worst parts in my opinion.
I have apparently chosen the route of getting one out at a time. I only have/had #16, #17, and #32. I got 17 out because I believe it was starting to cause pain and discomfort in my jaw. Now 16 is starting to cause issues. According to my dentist and my X-rays, it is fully bony impacted, not emerged at all. The gum back there is a little tender to touch and I have good and bad pain days. My question is would it be feasible to get this tooth extracted with local anesthesia and nitrous as well? I'm worried because it's still up in my upper jaw and I'm scared of being put under general anesthesia. It's also better for my bank account. I've also heard that top extractions are easier to do and recover from. Is this true? I haven't scheduled anything yet because i wanted to give my other extraction site time to heal and I have a lot of things going on this month. I'm just not sure what to expect or how it will compare to my other removal.
I will have to get #32 out eventually but I'm just trying to take care of the problem causing ones. For context I am 25.
