TCEQ Aquatic scientist

Hi, has anyone recently interviewed for the Aquatic Scientist 1 position at TCEQ? I’m trying to understand how and when they conduct reference and background checks. Has anyone been informed that their background process is ongoing? Also, do they only check references, or do they perform both reference and background checks?
