Do Modern controls have a bad reputation?

Hey Everyone

So I recently started playing SF6 after mostly playing just MK and Tekken when it comes to fighting games and I was wondering if in the communities eyes modern controls had a bad stigma like it does in other fighting game communities like for example Marve Ve Capcom 3

Like from my experience so far if seen a lot of people who use modern controls talk a lot of trash if they play on the same platform as me (xbox) so thats why I wanted to find out
