Stepping stones

I bought a dupe for Staplestein off Amazon, and while I know a dupe is never a real thing, I question the stepping ability. These things slide all over, no matter what floor I put them on, so the stepping feature isn’t safe for my one year old. She definitely loves playing with them regardless. My question is, if I decide to buy the real thing… do they have any grip!? Can she actually jump and play on them? And is it better to have the hard ones or soft stones, like roo and you?
