Break up with someone that I thought would be my husband…

Hey guys! So I recently broke up with this guy that I was dating for about 2.5 months. Essentially, I broke up with him because he would not help me financially. We started are relationship and he was aware that I needed financial help (being unemployed and what not). I gave it some time but he never helped me. He even agreed that as my boyfriend he should help me with money. I just thought to myself “I am struggling but I have a boyfriend.” So I decided to end things with him. Also, it is not that he didn’t have the money, because he would send me expensive gifts to my house consistently.
