Plasmapheresis Industry Professionals: Advice Needed
I'm looking into starting an independent plasma donation center and I could use some insight from those of you here that have worked in the plasmapheresis industry.

Are there specific companies in Europe and the US you are aware of that buy plasma from small plasma donation centers in the US that they then use to develop therapeutic treatments? I would need specific company names if possible please (DM is fine). I know that the large European/international corporations (e.g., Grifols, CSL, etc.) that manufacture plasma-based therapeutic treatments are so big that they have their own plasma collection centers here in the US, so I assume those companies would not buy from independent centers like me. It would be the smaller biotech companies that develop treatments that do not have their own collection centers that would be potential customers.

Do you have experience working with (or other insight into) smaller, independent for-profit plasma collection centers? If so, have they been successful? Aware of the challenges they faced, successes they had, etc.? I know of one such company that started out with one location on the east coast, and in the last 4 years has expanded to more than a dozen locations. So, while complicated and difficult, breaking into this market and competing with the big boys (Grifols, CSL, BioLife, etc.) can be done.
