Looking for detective-paranormal movies

While doing research for my screenplay I'm looking for titles that represent my genre.

Mystery/horror movies with a detective-type protagonist (doesn't have to be a cop specifically but most of the plot involves investigating some mysterious phenomena/death) prefebably taking place in small, secluded community.

Here are the movies that I put on the list so far (if you know them - look for similarities between them and you'll discover what type of movies I'm looking for), in no particular order:

• Cure
• The Ring
• Dead Silence
• Fallen
• The Wolf of Snow Hollow
• The Wailing
• Angel Heart

Also similar but not quite what I'm looking for (from what I know/remember):

• Wicker man
• Eight for silver (The Cursed)
• Apostle

If you know similar titles, no matter from what country, please share them in the comments.
