Setup Help

Hi Folks - hoping i can find some help here with my setup. I am based in Canada.

I have the following:

1. Amp: VP-3488SE SUNVALLEY - 中古オーディオ 高価買取・販売 ハイファイ堂 (I bought this exact one from Japan and have a 100v power convertor for this)

2. Record Player: RPM 1 Carbon Turntable - Pro-Ject Audio USA

I dont have speakers or a pre-amp.

I have never connected the two and from what AI tells me I MUST use a pre-amp.

What budget pre-amp ($100-200?) and speakers (up to $1500/pair) do you recommend? I am leaning towards KEF Q1 or Q3's...

Really appreciate your help.
