AI doom post

Discussion 🗣️

AI art is getting to a point where even decently experienced artists can’t tell difference in a lot of photos. I’ve seen so many artists who don’t use AI getting attacked for using AI when they are not and people clearly using AI being praised for not using it. I used to think that AI art would never be this indistinguishable from the real thing but I think we have to accept that it can now or will be able to soon. As someone who does art with physical mediums this still affects me, I’m an amateur tattoo artist and I see so many people that generate AI images, claim them as there own art and then tattoo them on real peoples skin. The biggest issue with this is that AI and the average customer of these people have no idea what actually heals well so they are charging people for tattoos that will age horribly that they didn’t even create. AI stealing peoples jobs isn’t a far off fantasy at this point it’s currently happening and I don’t think we can stop it and I can only see the problem getting worse as AI models get better at stealing people art. I think certain jobs that require creativity and implementation of client feedback have some level of safety net but how long will that last?
