Balen might be the one we want because of his PR machine and media manipulation, but he’s definitely not the one we need. Sure, there aren’t many good options to pick from right now, but if we’re being rational, he should honestly be at the very bottom of the list.

Just look at his track record. He recently triggered Gen-Z with a social media post a day ago ani not long ago he openly talked about torching Singha Durbar. That reckless statement wasn’t just talk, it inspired vandalism across hundreds of government offices, from ward offices to Parliament, all the way to Singha Durbar itself.

That’s not how a leader builds relationships or stability. He clearly lacks diplomacy. Not everyone exists to feed his ego. Imagine what would happen if the Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura issue flared up again and he decided to hang a “Greater Nepal” map in the PM’s office or worse, made some wild remark about torching the Taj Mahal or another country’s parliament. Then what? A blockade? A diplomatic crisis? Nepal can’t afford that kind of immaturity.

He also doesn’t have much experience in national or party politics. During the recent unrest, when people were injured, he didn’t even visit hospitals to check on them. Instead of being the “jholey” followers of a populist, we really should start questioning him. Let’s be honest, he’s more of a keyboard politician with a strong PR team (having Victor as a friend from RONB helps, I guess). If we actually compare what’s been done, leaders like Chiri Babu, Ram Krishna, Gopi, or even Renu have brought far more noticeable and lasting changes.

What worries me even more is his narcissism and ego. He refused the PM post even when a large section of Nepalese wanted him to take it since interim PM can't contest election. Then he endorsed Sushila Karki, and now one of his closest allies from KMC, Om Prakash Aryal, is the Home Minister. That alone makes it look like this government will lean heavily in his favor.

And the scariest part? His only real rival, Rabi Lamichhane, might not get verdict this time either since no serious steps have been taken yet, guilty vaye guilty na vaye let him go. Kei ta niskarsa aaunu paryo ni case ko. Just because he's a threat to your political career, you gonna rot him in jail?

Balen might also use the same tactics like delaying hearings or transferring cases from one court to another like the 3 taukeys. When there’s no real opposition, that’s when a leader starts acting like a dictator. We've seen the same "Modi nahi toh aur kon" type ko mentality in voters hamro neighboring country ma ani we can see what he has turned into. And that’s exactly the danger we’re walking into.

Balen might be a populist guy that many of us want, but he's not the one capable to lead a country!
