Help with SOS

My phone suddenly stopped having cellular signal saying 'SIM card failure' since last night. I restarted, even took out sim and replaced a couple times, and this morning it is still saying SOS. I cannot make or receive calls, but i can still text via wifi. Any possible solutions that will avoid buying a new phone?
