Landlord ghosted me while my bathroom was flooding

Just moved to a new town a couple of weeks ago, and found this cute little apartment that I was honestly pretty excited about. Everything was fine… until this weekend.

My shower started leaking like crazy, not just a drip, but full-on “about to flood the whole bathroom” level. Water was everywhere. Of course, this all happened on a Saturday night, and my landlord was completely MIA. Didn’t answer calls, didn’t reply to texts.

I ended up panicking and calling a Priority Plumber I found online. Well... because I seriously thought the water was gonna reach the living room. They showed up fast and fixed it, and I paid for something that clearly wasn’t my fault.

So yeah, now I’m debating how to ask the landlord to pay me back without sounding like a jerk. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of nonsense?
