Urgent question about progesterone

Need Advice

HELLO! I have PCOS and am currently 4 weeks + 3 days pregnant. A doctor prescribed me 200mg of progesterone daily on days 14-28 of my cycle about 10 months ago to help regulate my cycle (it did not help but I stuck with it anyway). In the event of a pregnancy, she told me to continue taking the progesterone.

Anyway, I took a pregnancy test on day 28 of my cycle this month and it was positive, with the HCG test strip lines getting darker every day since then. It was the same day I stopped my progesterone and I've been spotting ever since. I've seen my family doctor (not the one who prescribed me the progesterone) for all my tests and bloodwork etc. however he's not sure what my progesterone dosage is meant to be, and the doctor who prescribed it to me isn't available until later this week. Do I just start taking it every day? I'm super frustrated that nobody explained that my dosage would need to change once pregnant, but everything I'm reading online says I should be taking it every day now and that I shouldn't have stopped (I've now had a gap of 5 ish days).

Anyway, this 5 day gap and the spotting is giving me major anxiety. My body should naturally produce progesterone, right? It's a solid sign that the test lines are getting darker? This 5 days of no progesterone has me absolutely panicking! I have a refill and can start it again tonight. Is there such thing as overdoing it? Is it risky to start taking it daily until I can talk to the doc?

Thanks for listening <3
