How hard is it for a illegal migrant to live in Germany?

In many cities in the US, an illegal immigrant has almost full access to social system. E.g. kids going to school (event universities), health care, housing, jobs (paid under the table) and social welfare. How likely can illegal migrants thrive in Germany? Can I send my kids to school and work?
