Why do yall keep the boxes

I used to collect Lego sets and I would keep the boxes because they made them good for resale value but if I’m gonna fly an rc plane why in the world would I want to keep the boxes if I know I’m gonna be using it, is it just as a reference if something breaks or is there another reason.
