Store bought jarred foods that are way too easy to open
Maybe I’m unlucky, but it seems like there’s an increase of improperly sealed food items making their way to store shelves. Is anyone else noticing this?
Today I opened up a new jar of sun dried tomatoes in oil. Waaaay too easy to open, no pop, almost seemed like it had already been unsealed. Isn’t this a pretty significant botulism risk? I threw it away, but I feel like most people wouldn’t. Clearly thousands of people aren’t dying of things like botulism from commercially canned/jarred items every week, so is this actually less of an issue than I’m making it out to be?
