Help. 7th gen Kindle Fire updated the Text To Speech voice and now it sounds robotic!
I have a 7th Gen Fire Tablet. I use the Text To Speech (found under Device Options > Keyboard & Language > Text To Speech) to listen to Kindle books while I drive. A couple of weeks ago I received a notification that there was an update to the TTS voice I was using. I stupidly told it to go ahead and download the update.
As soon as I did that, the voice suddenly sounded robotic and metallic. I have tried to find a way to uninstall the voice and reinstall it, I've cleared the Kindle app cache, and have tried finding any way to fix this and restore the previous version of the voice but I can't seem to do it.
It's not the end of the world but I drive two hours every day and being able to listen to the Kindle Unlimited books I download made my drive tolerable. Now it's very annoying having to listen to this robot read to me.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
