Questions about transplant centers

Hi. My husband has been approved by the VA to go to Piedmont transplant center in Atlanta under the VA's Community Care system so he can hopefully get on their kidney transplant list. He's currently on PD dialysis.

For the VA to approve this, my spouse had to pass a checklist of testing & assessments for the VA. These included blood tests, drug tests, EKG, echo, stress test, PFT, Ultrasound, colonoscopy, mental health, dental, and a few others. He passed all of them. The VA transplant coordinator said they will send all the test/assessment results to Piedmont with the referral.

My question is, will Piedmont make him repeat all of these again? I'm aware some like blood test have to be repeated regularly. Does anyone have experience with Piedmont in Atlanta?

My husband's nephrologist told him that some repeat blood testing may be able to be done in our city (Columbus,GA) since we have 2 Piedmont hospitals here. Is that true if it's not a "transplant center"?
