Are workplaces wary of Engagements?

Hi folks Location: CA, USA

I’ve just been engaged and it will be a long engagement as we plan details (a year or more before the actual wedding).

I don’t expect any issues with my job but it’s common knowledge to create a paper trail for other major events like pregnancy, etc. Just in case it does cause issues, there is evidence to fall back on.

Are Engagements something that companies are wary of and should I act to protect myself? What options are available (casual and formal). Should I send a notice to my immediate supervisor and HR?
