drop out of masters bc?
hi everyone! im really just writing this post because i dont really have anyone else i feel like i can talk and think this through with because its kinda embarrassing. i just started my masters in a data sciencey program after my final year in chemistry undergrad where i really liked computational chemistry. the problem is im not sure i want to do this for my career and i enrolled on this masters 1. because i liked it and 2. my parents were really on me about getting a job or grad scheme as soon as i graduated. i'm worried that i wont be able to find a data analyst job after i graduate even from my masters because 1. the job market is so oversaturated esp in tech, and 2. i like my course at the moment but i dont think its what i want to do.
the truth is i honestly just want to work a normal 'easy' 9-5 job with an ok wage that i can forget about once i'm home which i dont really need a masters for. i am honestly thinking about dropping out because theres no point in doing a masters and paying for something i don't even know if i want to do later down the line right? i'm scared what my parents are gonna say because they put a lot of importance on education and finding a job in a sector like tech because theyre both immigrants, but i just genuinely don't know what career i want to have right now.
