Mets in the lining of the abdomen
Hello,
It'll be 11 years since my mother was diagnosed with BC with mets in the bone. Over those years it has spread to the uterus (now removed), lungs (normal lung functions) liver (increased spots but normal liver functions) and now the doctor is saying it has spread to the lining of the abdomen (after a bad case of ascites - 7 liters drained).
She was last on Enhurtu (which only worked for 9 months) and has now switched to Trodelvy (we did not even finish the first cycle before the ascites got worse).
My mother has been physically able and full of life apart from the few days after chemo until now. I'm scared, everything I read about "Peritoneal carcinomatosis" is telling me my mother may have reached "the beginning of the end" the doctor is telling me he does not expect Trodelvy to be as effective.
What should I do, what should I be asking next, this is the first time I have sensed her doctor "defeated" and I feel like I should get ready to fight for options now.
(Please excuse me for my english)
