Engineer mos’s army reserve

Just enlisted as a 12N in the army reserves. Duty station will be in Sloan Nv. Trying to see if anyone knows much about what that unit does, what I might be doing, and high/low chances of deployment. Was told that this is a vertical unit, not entirely sure what that means. Looked it up and it said that “vertical units work on construction that rises vertically, such as buildings and structures”. So does that mean I’m going to be cross training with the other engineer mos’s rather than operating heavy machinery?

Also wanted to see how difficult it is to get re-classed or to get a change of duty station, I’m coming from another state, so would obviously like to be closer to home. Was told that if they don’t have any openings for my mos closer to home, then I could change my mos to something that they do need. Just trying to see if thats easier said than done?
