am I stupid or what, 2014 QX60 CVT transmission issues
We got this QX60 at 80k miles. We have put about $8000 of repairs into the suv in the past year to really try to make sure it will last. Currently at 110k miles, about a week ago began having a whirring sound, from what I hear was supposedly the start of the end for our CVT transmission. We were multiple states away from home when it occurred with very little money, so we drove it back home carefully hoping whatever issue wouldn’t get worse immediately. The next day after arriving home, the transmission started slipping. Got a quote for around $4500 to get it fixed up. I know getting it fixed doesn’t guarantee that it will last but I want to know if it’s worth the fix. The trade in value is little to nothing with the transmission issue and I’ve heard of these models lasting up to 300k miles with proper maintenance. I really don’t want to take out a second loan for a different car but depending on how these comments look I might just have to do that. I love our qx60 and would hate to see it go. Helpful advice please!!! I know I’m an idiot getting for this car on a budget
