First time viewer season 3 thoughts

Spoiler

I’m about halfway through season 3, and I feel like this one is losing me just a bit. I still enjoying the show a lot, but my one issue so far is the whole fuches storyline trying to get the families of people who died because of Barry, whether that was by his hand or by association. The mother and son thing bothers me because they believe it immediately and are gung ho on a dime, they aren’t given any evidence, they meet this guy who says he’s a PI and tells them who did it and they’re just all in. I don’t like it as a viewer but it doesn’t ruin the season for me. Also since season 1 I haven’t liked Sally’s character that much, she’s just kind of stuck up, and rude to everyone, I sympathize with her story in a lot of ways but it’s the way she talks to others that makes me not really enjoy following her for a large portion of the series. Other than that I like the rest of the season, Barry becoming more mentally unstable fits his character because of everything that he’s done/been through, and Fuches coming back to try to take Barry down is good even though I have issues with how it’s being done. Gene’s story is also pretty good, he’s turning his life around, or at least trying to, and it seems like it’s working, but his characterization is nice. While the relationship between Hank and Cristobal does drag its feet a little bit, I think it’s a pretty fitting continuation of their characters, I also just love both of those actors so seeing them more is a nice treat. Finally, I think that the development between Sally and Barry’s relationship is the best written here, even though it’s kinda dumb that it takes someone else telling Sally that Barry is unhinged and not good for her to realize that she should try to distance herself, it’s good to see her actually reacting to Barry’s weirdness like a normal person. I’m only on episode 6 so hopefully the issues I have will become obsolete but I wanted to share my thoughts and see what others think and maybe look at it differently
