True Torment help

I‘m struggling a lot with those flying ghosts with bells that appear in various areas. Them alone I can usually handle, but once other enemies like the rapier ladies are in the mix, it gets really frustrating, and I keep dying due to the bell guys being very tanky. I chose the penance that gives you orbs for health.

I want to play the DLC really badly before starting the second game, but true torment makes me want to quit.
