U/D Character Pairings: Does every character upstairs have a downstairs counterpart?

Been pondering this idea lately. Not sure if this concept has been discussed and brainfucked to death or not as I’m sort of new on the block.

But, I keep thinking that—as far as character and personalities are concerned—does everyone upstairs has a “them” downstairs, and vice versa. For example:

Robert = Carson Cora = Anna (or Baxter) Mary = Barrow Edith = Daisy Sybil = Anna (or Gwen) Violet = Mrs. Patmore Isobel = Mrs. Hughes Matthew = Bates Tom Branson = Tom Branson

Denker = O’Brien Mosley = Spratt

I could be completely wrong or off. I know some of the pairings might be a little off, or a stretch. But I was thinking about Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Patmore and thought, they’re kind of the Violet and Isobel of downstairs. That’s what got this train of thought chugging along.

Do you agree and if so, what would your pairings be? Curious to see how others would match up upstairs/downstairs counterparts.
