200k job, should I apply?
Decades a go, I worked at this place. Turned up at 8, lubed the machine, turned it on, made sure it ran fine all day, turned it off at 5. Most days there wasnt much to do. For redundancy, there were two of us, reading newspaper (before internet) and drinking coffee. The pay was minimum wage. I did not complain as it was an easy job, I later moved on, did many different jobs and careers.
Recently retired. I receive a pension for a comfortable living. There is enough money to last till I die. I do enjoy the freedom of not going to work and sleeping in,
Anyhow, I was flipping through the papers and saw a job ad from the above place. They are still using the same machine, and same job description. They must be desperate coz they are offering 200k a year.
Initially I thought it was a misprint, I checked the previous weeks paper and there it was again 200k.
Now, I am conflicted. Whilst I dont need the money, 200k is a lot of money. I have not touch the machine in decades, should not be too hard to get back on the saddle.
How would you approach this dilemma? I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you
