draining into air vent

I have a Amerec steam generator installed in my attic above my bathroom. The steam generator has an 'autodrain' valve that dumps out the water (<2 gallons) from the boiler post-shower. It was my contractor's first time installing a steam generator and he just routed the discharge pipe out to my eves so the water spits out 3 stories and falls into my yard lol. It's super loud and could unexpectedly spray someone with hot water.

Can I have the boiler drain into the nearby air vent pipe in the attic? I'm assuming the air vent pipe is there for the sink, shower, and toilet in the bathroom below, so this would be one more device draining into the pipe, but 8 ft above all the other fixtures. We'd obviously still have the air gap. above where the boiler connects into the pipe.
