How do I get over my fear of potential danger when going to a drag show?
I hate that I ever even need to write this but, for my birthday I bought tickets to a theater to go see a really fun drag show. Im really excited, counting down the days, its always been on my bucket list to go and see one and exited that my significant other is coming with me too and seems jazzed to go see it as well.
Im a cis woman and I have always seen drag to be kind of a empowering expression of how to be proud of your feminity. I see them and i always think "I wanna be confident like her".
However this looming fear rolls over when I feel excited. What if someone comes in with the intent of violence? I begin thinking where my seats are and worry about all these scenarios of the worst possible things.
I dont want this to distrupt my enjoyment. I dont want this to stop me from going to go see some really fabulous looking performances. I hate that we live in a world with this anxiety, bit I refuse to let it disrupt my life and the things I enjoy. I really just would like to talk about how I been feeling, see if anyone else has felt this way.
