Help

Hi everyone, long story short. My aunt got leather shoes she wanted but didn't like the color. So she told me to dye them black for her. I've do a lot dyeing, and tie dye, but never leather. So I got the leather dye in black, I got the daubers, and a sealent. I wiped the shoes with acetone to remove the factory finish. And applied 3 coats, waiting roughly 2 hours between coats. But they look more blue than black. And there are areas that look black. Any advice on how to fix them would be greatly appreciated
