Alternatives to a bridge?

question

As a kid I had the second molar (31) on my left removed. As I grew my teeth were pretty straight but tooth 30 grew at a slight left angle so it blocked the adult tooth for 31 to grow properly. A few years ago I learned from an oral surgeon that 31 was possibly ankylosed. So what he did was removed the top portion of the tooth, and kept the bottom where it was because we didn't want to risk the procedure of removing the whole thing and possibly breaking my jaw, so it was the least risky procedure. Next I just finished up my ortho treatment to get everything straighten out. The next step I believe is to now get a bridge to fill that gap, but I'm not a huge fan of shaving down two perfectly healthy teeth. Also doesn't seem like implants are a possibility since that 31 is partially still there. Any advice?
