Should I split up my production company/portfolio?
Hey all.
I started my LLC/production company about two years ago, mainly as a home for my projects & with the mission to produce work in my area (narratives & documentaries). Since then, I've ended up doing a bit of commercial video work (ads, marketing stuff, promo stuff, events, etc). This is most of what's in my local market. All of this has been added to my website as I've gone along, despite the thesis of the company being rooted more in film.
I thought about separating that commercial portfolio & setting up a subsidiary business under similar branding to my production company. Does this sound like a huge hassle and not worth my time, or something that may actually he helpful in the long run in sustaining some work?
