The blazing reddish orange sun began to set over the flat Texas horizon, bathing the dusty landscape in deep shades of orange and red. The heat of the day was finally starting to cool off, and with the days chores finally done the day had begun to wind down on the Abram’s Farm.

The year is 1885. John Abram’s had died three years prior, leaving only his widow and their son Jack to tend to the very farm he had purchased to raise his family on. With a meager amount of cattle, some chickens, and a few horses, the life was a hard but honest one. John had only wanted the best for his wife and son, but it seemed that fate had other plans when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and died six months later.

Ever since then, His wife and son had been working the farm the best that they could, relying on the only people they had left in the world on the remote farm: Each other. They supported and loved one another the best that they could, rarely associating with outsiders due both to distrust as well as the fact that traveling to the city meant leaving their homestead vulnerable to cattle rustlers or other such outlaws.

and so, day in and day out they kept each other company as they tended to the Ranch. Just a boy and his Ma…..but like all warm-blooded humans, these two would not be strangers to the sinful temptations of the flesh…no matter if it was towards their own kin.~
