CS-T or TS-C
Hello, I'm hoping for some insight regarding where i should go with my education. I'm currently doing prerequisite courses for a TC-S program and then plan on moving to a small town to attend the same college as my girlfriend. (SWOSU) the idea is to work as a scrub tech as I do pre-med in order to A. get experience in the OR (it may help applications to medical school), and B. have a stable job as we will be living on our own.) Ive considered going straight to SWOSU instead of taking this detour as im already "behind the curve" in terms of when ill matriculate. Ill have to pay full price for my first year as my high school gap was terrible (i was homeless for 3 years and dealing with addiction) and I'm hoping for 3.5 or higher at SWOSU at time of graduation. im slightly doubting my abilities as i do basic AandP. so what if i graduate and do terrible and then boom plans ruined. i feel like im leaning towards scrub tech as a fall back plan if im not smart enough to get into med school, but i genuinely want to be a surgeon. or an anesthesiologist which i know is hard to match into. my Highschool GPA was like a 2.6 and I don't know if im really that smart i feel like the kind of people who "make it" have better and quicker memory and wayyy better highschool stats. Really not trying to put myself down but a mixture of taking another year to finally start pre-med and not even for the nationally recognized certificate as it would be another year to something, and that may not even work out as who knows if I can even find a job with a TS-C or let alone work at the same time as taking full time college courses; many being notoriously hard classes at this specific school (lead pharmacy program) they take all chemistry and such very seriously. at this rate i will be like 32-35 by the time of graduation. is that too late??..
