Advice for dealing with abandonment

Advice

I have nowhere else to turn, so I come to reddit. I am a 31 y/o man and was dating a wonderful woman for 4 months. Things seemed to be going really great. We got along very well; our dates were fun, we cooked together, had similar interests and senses of humor. We had actually just begun talking about becoming an official boyfriend/girlfriend. This topic was initiated by HER and I was very on board. We seemed to be building something that we were both excited about.

Then, out of nowhere, she just fell off the face of the Earth. She gave no responses to texts or calls for over 2 months. In my attempts to reach out, I never lashed out or displayed anger. I was just trying to figure out what was up. I was truly worried something happened to her (maybe a car accident or health issue) because she seemed so genuine, and no other explanation for her going silent made sense to me. After those difficult 2 months, I got confirmation on social media that she was alive and doing fine. It's been a different kind of painful since then.

I tried reaching out a few other times since then: "if there's someone else, if it's something I did, I would rather just hear the hard truth of why you wanted out, than deal with the unknown that I'm dealing with now." Unsurprisingly, I've still gotten zero response.

Before she ghosted me, we opened up to each other about our communication habits and about having some mental health struggles. These were good conversations and never seemed to unveil a red flag that would prevent her from very basic communication about needs and wants in a relationship.

The truth is, I want to be mad, but I still miss her a lot. It's now been almost 6 months since I last heard from her, and I still can't shake the feeling that it felt like such a perfect match. I've tried going on other dates but haven't been able to get over how I felt about her. She still comes to mind for me multiple times a day. My goal is to get over her and move on. I'm just frustrated with how long it's taking for me to do that.

I still feel desperate for an explanation. It feels like an explanation would be so helpful in letting me move forward. I've thought about reaching out to friends of hers to get their perspective, but anything like that feels kind of crazy. Breakups from much longer and more serious relationships have been easier for me to get over than this.
