AITAH for wanting to go hunting?
I (37F) am married to my husband (36M) for 5 years. We've been together for 7 years and have 3 kids (6, 4, 1yo). I work, I own my own business and make enough to make ends meet, though we have to budget pretty strictly. My husband stays at home with our two youngest and our oldest goes to school. I get up at 5:30am to make sure our oldest has everything for school (I make lunches, make sure things are signed for the day, etc) and husband takes her to school. I work from 7am until about 5pm give or take some hours and then come home and give him a break so he can do what he needs. I make dinner, clean, do chores, etc. Previously, I was a STAHM and this never happened. I never had a break, ever. We're very different people with different needs so it's been fine and it's worked for us. However, lately even on the weekends he's picked up a hobby of mountain biking with his friends all day on Saturdays. Which is fine, I love that he's found a hobby he can enjoy with his friends. But I need a break. I come from a very southern upbringing and I miss going hunting, fishing, etc. I told him that maybe I can have Sundays as my hunting day and he got very quiet and defensive. He said he would like to go with me, but that isn't a possibility because someone needs to be with the kids. He said that's a man's hobby and I should look into something different and it would be embarrassing for him if I harvested something. I want to hunt (I've done it all my life until I had kids) and I don't feel like it's fair just because he's insecure. AIATAH?
