Kunai Chain Assassination

Hiya

The Crimson Kimono armor has a perk that says "Chain Assassinations can be performed with Kunai", just wondering if theres an easy way to do this that im somehow missing. Ive tried to press R1 during a chain assassination, nothing happened, and im scared to wait too long before pressing triangle.

Thanks.
