re-learning native language (French) as an adult child of an expat?

hi, im the child of an french expat who i haven't had contact with in a long time, and as a result ive forgotten a lot of my french (i used to be fluent as a child as i used to move between countries). im wondering if theres any programs that provide assistance to expat adult children in Melbourne? i feel hesitant to get a class package that's $600 from alliance francaise, considering it will most likely "click" for me once i get immersed. does anyone know of any expat french communities around online? ive seen alliance francaise, but most of it is directed towards children under 18. i would say im about beginner-intermediate reading, and stringing sentences together is a lot worse haha. reminder to speak to your children in your native language, its really hard to not be able to communicate properly to your family overseas when you've forgotten so much.
