Tank build questions

Looking for a bit of a hand with some tanking questions…. Using tower shields of course and I have my heavy set with the right perks and gems. (It’s just the faction gear with some 700s that actually had the perks I wanted) But weapon wise I was curious. I have both a great axe or a greatsword depending the fight. But for the sword with the board. I’ve been using wit because it has a built in taunt with it… Is wit actually good for tanking? I’ve been seeing people using butcher instead.
