Intimacy without Sex?
My girlfriend a few weeks ago broke down after we had sex (she has clarified it was not my fault just pent up emotions) and said that she wants us to take a break from having sex indefinitely until she works through her issues. She has had some traumatic sexual experiences with men she dated in the past (she's bisexual) and also experiences pain during sex that has been completely ignored by every doctor she has seen. These are issues she is working through on her own with my help wherever I can.
Before we were having sex several times a week and now that that is gone there has been a noticeable shift in our relationship. We just feel less... connected? If that makes sense. It also just feels like we aren't physically as close anymore. Does anyone have any advice on how to maintain intimacy without sex? A sexless relationship is really not something I wanted (though I totally respect and understand why it's gotten to this) and I'm finding myself not feeling like I can connect to her the same way.
