Do you guys do Karwachauth and all?

My husband and I live in Bangalore while our parents are back in Delhi.

We did Karwachauth with all the rituals and all in the first year of marriage (my MIL made sure we do it since she was supposed to get gifts from both my mother and me).

Anyway, this year, she didn’t show any interest so she just casually told me what to do. I did whatever I could understand. My husband also has a very casual attitude towards this. He doesn’t believe in the concept and didn’t get me anything either in the first year or this time.

I also wore a normal suit in the morning, did a little pooja and that’s it. But while looking at all the instagram posts and stories of women getting ready, hands full of henna, getting gifts from their husband/in-laws, it made me wonder, if it’s a very normal thing and I’m missing out on something or it’s all for show off.

P.s.- Both my husband and I are not proper followers of rituals and stuff.
