Like many others, I'm done with USAA, but what next?

Insurance/Claims

My dad, retired, career AF, dropped USAA many years ago and has suggested I do the same. I had stuck with them though, they hadn't let me down yet and I liked being part of something better for fellow service members (I'm also career AF).

But it's finally happened, USAA broke my trust and failed to provide the type of customer service I expect from the company I started with almost 30 years ago.

So, I'm on the market for a new insurance provider (I've zeroed out all my financial accounts), but I really don't know how to go about it.

I don't mind paying for good service I don't want cut-rate insurance. My dad went with Allstate through his buddy (different state).

How to you compare apples to apples with online quotes?

I recieved a letter from an Allstate agent randomly through the mail - I generally just throw those out. Should I follow up this time?

It's an intimidating process for sure.
