Focus mode in general, or (possibly) iOS 26's focus mode not working as expected
I have a WORK focus mode that should be preventing callers not explicitly defined in the Focus mode from ringing my phone. The phone is an iPhone 17 Pro with iOS 26.0.1.
I have reviewed the settings of this focus repeatedly. Still, I cannot see why a specific caller in my contacts (not an emergency contact) that I explicitly omitted from the Focus mode AND a potential spammer (unknown and labeled as such by my carrier) were able to make it past this Focus and ring my phone.
- The Intelligent Breakthrough and Silencing setting is turned off.
- Silence Unknown Callers is turned on.
- Under the People section of this focus, I only list my wife, children, and select work contacts. No one else.
- Allow Calls From points to a Contacts folder that I created, which only has those contacts included.
- Allow Repeated Calls is off.
- Silence Notifications is set to ALWAYS.
- I have confirmed the FOCUS is enabled (it turns on every day at 8:30 am and off at 5:00 pm)
Am I missing some other setting, or is this simply a bug in the iOS?
