Why did nobody tell me the hoverpack is amazing?

Everyone's always gushing or that lame regular jetpack, but this things amazing.

• Being overwhelmed by chaff? Hover and shoot down. Especially great with something explosive like the eruptor.
• Stingray coming to shoot you and you can't dodge out of the way? Hover and shoot it as it passes you.
• Defending a position? Hover onto a rock or building and completely ignore the meele attackers.
• Need to throw something farther? Hover and throw.

The only one I've ever even seen in the field is my own. Am I just a genius, am I missing something, and/or any other tips or tricks I missed?
