Why do moving companies always take photos before touching your chandelier?

Noticed this? Professional movers always whip out cameras before disassembling chandeliers, even simple ones.

There's actually a bunch of reasons:

  • Reassembly guide (trust me, you'll forget where things go)
  • Documentation for insurance purposes
  • Helps us understand complexity before we start
  • Evidence of pre-existing damage

But I'm curious - does this make you more or less confident when you see movers doing it? Some clients love the thoroughness, others get nervous like 'why are they taking pictures, are they expecting problems?'
