Evri mystery - help!
Had a coat from Vinted being delivered by Evri to my local shop, I got a notification saying there had been a delay with the delivery. A few days later. The parcel turned up in the lobby of my building. Initially I assumed I’d got confused and sent it to my home address by mistake (I don’t normally do this as parcels get stolen from our lobby all the time and couriers just leave them in there vs bringing them to the front door).
When I opened the parcel there was a hoody in there which I had not ordered as well as the coat. I assumed the seller had packed it by mistake, so I messaged to let them know and sent them a photo. They responded and had never seen the hoody before - they had no idea why it was in there.
I then looked again at the postage label and realised a second label had been stuck on top of the original one. The bottom label was addressed to my local shop - which is what I had requested. But now there was a second postage label on top with my home address.
It’s very weird and a little bit creepy. Why would someone open my package, and put in a random item of clothing and how and why did the address get changed? And is this why it was delayed in transit? Trying to speak to Evri is painful.
Any ideas on what this could be? Any other situations like this? Should I be worried?
