What is the gender ratio like?

Just out of pure curiosity. I notice there were over a thousand characters, which is actually insane. (Not in a bad way.) If someone were to only go for male heroes, would that be possible? Or if someone were to only want female characters, would that be possible? Again, this is just out of curiosity. I want to know the ratio -or at least a good guess. I've never played a game that had so many cool characters!
